New Site Announcement Coming Up Soon
Posted by: Nazmune - Tuesday, November 26, 2002 @ 11:56 PM ET
We're working on a brand new anime web page that will probably appeal to many DBZ fans. It's far from complete but because we'll need DBZN fan support to create and start it we'll be announcing it way before completion.

Expect more details within a week!

Forum Is Back Up
Posted by: Nazmune - Saturday, November 23, 2002 @ 9:57 PM ET
Sometime tonight the forum went down and there was a critical error in the forum database (with the user tables in particular). Fortunately the user tables haven't been corrupted and no users were lost. Everything appears to be functioning at the moment. If you encounter any problems please be sure to report it.

Vash the Stampede
Posted by: Jon - Monday, November 18, 2002 @ 5:35 PM ET
If you all are a big fan of Vash, then you will be very glad to know that there has been a 12" action figure made! It has some of these characteristics: 24 points of articulation, a real cloth trenchcoat able to bend, translucent shades, the high-caliber revolver, concealed robotic gun arm and Kutoneko. This figure has been on delay for almost a year now, and it is finally available. The MSRP is $34.99 and they are said to be going like water on a hot day. Go to any online store and order them today! Thanks to Anime News Service for this news.

The Anime Network Website
Posted by: Nazmune - Sunday, November 17, 2002 @ 8:33 PM ET
The Anime Network's Website is up although there really isn't anything to do other then sign up for their news letter. In any case you can view it here.

The Anime Network is an upcoming Anime cable channel. Be sure to email/phone/bug your cable providers to death to carry the Anime Network.

P.S. The DBZN will be launching a new anime site sometime in the near future (within a couple of months).

Duke University's Anime Article
Posted by: Nazmune - Tuesday, November 12, 2002 @ 10:24 PM ET
The Online version of Duke University's Newspaper, The Chronicle, has posted an article about Anime's sophistication and it's infiltration in the U.S. This article highlights the fact that anime isn't limited to the likes of Pokemon and Sailor Moon. You can view the article here.

I personally would rate DBZ somewhere in the middle of the anime sophistication chain. It's not down at the level of Pokemon but you have to admit most of us watch it because of all the crazy fighting acton not because of it's deep plot.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai PS2 Game
Posted by: Nazmune - Tuesday, November 12, 2002 @ 8:03 PM ET
In just a little over three weeks Infogrames will be releasing a new PS2 game called Dragonball Z Budokai on Dec. 4th. This much info I found while visiting the official DBZ site.. I then went on to check on some gaming sites (ign.com in particular) and found some rather negative previews. I also found out that it could be called Dragonball Z: Legendary Super Warriors in the U.S. You can view some screen shots of it over at IGN's preview page.

I may have some more on this soon after viewing some of the preview movies.

DBZ Get's Japanese DVD Release!
Posted by: Nazmune - Wednesday, November 6, 2002 @ 11:40 PM ET
It's been six years since the conclusion of DBGT and it seems that TOEI (or another company that has licensed DBZ) has finally decided to release DBZ on DVD. They will release two box sets, each containing about half the series. The first box, which will be retailing for 100k yen ($820 USD) will be released on March 19th 2003 and contain the first 147 episodes. It will include the TV Specials (no details on whether it's both the TV specials or just one) some extra animation clips and... an action figure! The second box set that goes from episodes 148 to the end of DBZ will be released on September of the same year.

This could be a very good thing if you can shell out the cash for such a thing. This release has nothing to do with the American releases by FUNi but may include English subtitles which would be excellent for numerous fans. The only downer to those that are here in the U.S. is that you'll have to get around region encoding found on all legally sold DVD players here. It is possible, you'll just have to look around...

Posted by: Jon - Saturday, November 2, 2002 @ 4:58 PM ET
Do you like Dexter's Laboratory and Johnny Bravo? Well if you do, this is bad news. Starting November 4th, these two TV shows will be replaced by Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh on Cartoon Network. They will play weeknights 9:00 to 10:00 pm. For the fans of this show, these toons will start from the beginning.
