December 2002

Return of the Mini-Reviews
Posted by: Nazmune - Friday, December 27, 2002 @ 4:29 PM ET
From this point on I'll be reviewing (mini-reviewing) every ep of DBZ that doesn't already have a mini-review. One per day as shown on teh Cartoon Network. At first we will not have any images or clips accompanying them but once I get some new equipment... (within a week and a half) that'll happen as well. I am starting this at the end of Christmas Eve because I have a lot more free time now and I'm hoping to get the momentum going so I can continue this when i have less time.

The mini-review is a smaller version of our typical review, the main reason it's small is that it's written daily and by the same person (me). Doing a full review every days (typically mroe then two pages typed) can be extremely tedious.

According to Pioneer (company that owns the license to distribute Fushigi Yuugi here in the U.S.), Fushigi Yuugi will be shown on the International Channel early in 2003.

International channel is already showing DBGT, (in Japanese with no english subtitles), the Slayers (with english subtitles), and El Hazard The Magnificent World (also with subtitles).

For more info on the time table on this and other anime shows on the International channel, visit the International Channel Website.

Mythology Section
Posted by: King Vegita - Thursday, December 19, 2002 @ 10:51 PM ET
The first part of the Mythology Section is now up, it is an article written about me on ki. Check it out.

The Mythology Section will be all about anything in DBZ which might be considered to stem from some sort of mythology (as anything which cannot be "proven" to exist would fit under, including Christian, Muslim, Bhuddhist, Ancient Greek, Egyptian, Mayan, etc. beliefs) that is involved in DBZ.

Fake FUNi Legal Threat
Posted by: Nazmune - Friday, December 13, 2002 @ 10:19 PM ET
A couple of days ago it seems that some customer of www.hostultra.com or maybe even Host Ultra themselves sent a fake email that claimed to be from legal@funimation.com.

Well, it seemed highly unrealistic that DBZN would get such a threat so I looked at the actual email file and checked out the mail headers. It seems that it came from hostultra.com who after a short investigation at domainwhitepages.com seemed to be reselling or colocating at nhicolo.com. Not only is this email NOT from FUNimation it's not even from a server from the same webhost. FUNimation from my short investigation seems to be hosted at interland.com or and interland.com reseller.

The email itself was probably from some annoying 13 year old kid that figured out how to manipulate the from email address from area (you can write a two line php script that'll do that). The person is hosted at a place that claims to provide unlimited everything (usually kicks you out after you use more then 10 gigs).

I originally discarded this email after my quick 5 minute investigation several days ago but it seems that some other legitimate DBZ sites like www.dbzgtlegacy.com were also emailed by the same clown at the same time. I just want you all to know that this is nothing to worry about.

Fan Wallpapers Updated

Get to see Akira Toriyama!
Posted by: Jon - Wednesday, December 4, 2002 @ 8:36 PM ET
The Official site of DragonballZ has been kind enough to tell me that on Friday, December 06, 2002, Akira Toriyama will show up at Chelsea Piers, in the Skate Park in New York City from 3:00 to 4:30. He will draw a picture and give it to youth of New York City and Communities In Schools of New York City. Also, Chris Sabat (Vegeta and Piccolo) and Laura Bailey (Kid Trunks) will be there from 4:30 to 6:00.

Also, this has nothing to do with the Subjet, but Dragon Ball Z®: Budokai™ was released by Infogrames today for PS2. GamePro Magazine calls it "A dream come true for every Dragon Ball Z fan."

Thanks DBZ Official Website
