| A-kon 13 Hotel Update |
|
Posted by: Jon - Monday, May 20, 2002 @ 1:54 PM ET |
| Now, I am sure all of you know what A-Kon 13 is, but if you are just out of it, A-Kon 13 is an American Anime Convention. It will be held at the Hyatt Regency DFW on May 31 - June 2, 2002. This is going to be huge. For an update, the Hyatt D/FW, the Hilton DFW Lakes Exec, the Hilton DFW Lakes, and the Ramada are sold out. The next expected hotel to sell out is the Harvey Hotel-DFW located on 4545 W John Carpenter Frwy in Irving, Texas. You can call them at 972-929-4500 and use the code "A-Kon 13" to get a good rate. A-Kon 13 advises that you do not use 800 numbers or online services to get a reservation in this event, you must contact the hotel directly. Most hotel rooms will be well over $100 and the closer to the event, the more expensive they will be. There is a lot to do in order to be able to go to this convention, so your best bet is to visit A-Kon 13 (http://www.a-kon.com/updates.html) and see all they have to offer. |
| A Music Festival worth Hearing |
|
Posted by: Jon - Sunday, May 19, 2002 @ 11:58 AM ET |
| New York - Tokyo Festival is a unique festival that will host both US and Japanese music and it will put them in New York City. This whole project is run by New York - Tokyo, which is a project that is going to try to enlighten Americans about the Japanese music, and increase good relationships between New York and Japan. If you think about it hard enough, everything added together equals something awesome. There will possibly be some connections to Anime and you may have the chance to see this first hand. Anime is apart of the Japanese culture, and if sharing culture is on of their goals, then Anime will be there. This festival will be help in New York on May 23 - 25 starting at 6:30 PM. A cool venue will be the Japan Society located on 333 E 47th street, New York, New York. So lets just say it will be a ride of a lifetime, and everyone should go. |

I will write the first mini-review (two paragraph summary, one paragraph review). Those who are interested can write their own reviews on episodes not already reviewed by us.

| IGN.com Reviews DBZ Game |
|
Posted by: Nazmune - Saturday, May 11, 2002 @ 11:26 PM ET |
IGN.com, officially reviews the latest DBZ game for the gameboy, "The Legacy of Goku." It is done by non-fan and the game get's poor ratings. I personally am not surprised as the game does look pretty bad. On the bright side, the DBZ games for the PS2 and other consoles might be a lot better. They are going to be of a different "genre." The other genre's will include fighters (Legacy of Goku was more of and Action RPG and resembled the old Zelda's).
Oh and one more thing, you have to be an IGNinsider to see the review. It costs like $2 to $4 bucks a month. |
