FUNimation Announces Acquisition of Fullmetal Alchemist
Posted by: Nazmune - Thursday, May 13, 2004 @ 9:55 PM ET
It looks as though FUNimation has aquired the rights to one of Japan's most popular animated shows at the moment. It's also a person favorite of mine. The show will air on Cartoon Network starting in October of this year (DVD's to follow in 2005). The following information has been provided by FUNimation:

In conjunction with a great E3 event involving Square Enix and Aniplex, FUNimation Productions, Ltd. has announced the acquisition of the hot action property Fullmetal Alchemist©.

"Fullmetal Alchemist is a rare blend of action, comedy and fantasy is combined with a remarkable storyline."

The series is about 15 year-old Edward Elric, who is a prodigy known as the Fullmetal Alchemist. Alchemy, the precursor to modern chemistry, is the science of matter and transmutation. Due to an experiment gone wrong when they were younger, Edward and his younger brother Alphonse paid a heavy price for messing around with the natural laws of science. Now the brothers are on an adventurous quest of the utmost importance: to find the fabled Philosopher’s Stone.

Fullmetal Alchemist is currently scheduled to make its broadcast debut on Cartoon Network in October 2004 and the DVD release of the Fullmetal Alchemist anime series is expected at the beginning of 2005.

Sorry about all the downtime recently... Our other server (dbzn was formerly on it) has been suffering from hackers attacking it. Currently all sites will be moved from the old site to the new one.
