Akira Nominated for DVD Award
Posted by: Nazmune - Friday, August 22, 2003 @ 2:28 PM ET
It seems Pioneer's re-release of Akira with DTS was of superior quality as it was nominated for "Best Audio Representation." Unfortunately it lost the award to Minority Report but getting the nomination is a testament to Pioneer's excellent work in restoring Akira for it's new release.

This is going to be a sci-fi love story by director Saeki Shouji. It's important to note that he did not direct Evangelion or FLCL which were done by two different directors.

NYC Vacation Over
Posted by: Nazmune - Sunday, August 17, 2003 @ 1:54 PM ET
My rather interesting NYC vacation is over... Had to spend about 24 hours without electricity and in that heat it was quite horrible. But i did have some fun and I met some really old friends. Regular updates will continue from this point on.

New Dragonball Episodes In October
Posted by: Nazmune - Tuesday, August 12, 2003 @ 1:59 PM ET
Earlier we mentioned that Dragonball would air on Cartoon Network again in September... while that is true the new episodes will air in October (first week) at 5:30 PM. DBGT will also air in that same week on October 3rd on Cartoon Network.

P.S. NYC's a lot more different that I used to remember it. A few more days till this vacation ends.

DBZN Forums -> Animedd.com Forums
Posted by: Nazmune - Sunday, August 10, 2003 @ 4:10 AM ET
Alright, as promised DBZN forum has been moved to animedd.com before that sites official launch. I am going on a vacation starting a few hours from now (looks like i start it off with only four hours of sleep) and will be back in a week. I'm going to keep track of everything as often as possible from the road.

Note that I have decided to keep DBZN up as a separate site and possibly even update both sites from now on.

DBZ out of the Toonami Lineup
Posted by: Nazmune - Saturday, August 9, 2003 @ 4:37 PM ET
Looks like our favorite series will be out of the Toonami lineup this fall. However we will get new episodes of Dragonball starting Sept. 1st at 5:30 PM ET and DBGT on October 3rd. The four DBZ movies listed on one of our earlier news stories will air as well (scroll to down a bit to see them).

Innocence: Ghost in the Shell Trailer
Posted by: Nazmune - Friday, August 8, 2003 @ 10:28 PM ET
68 seconds of the 6 minute trailer of Production IG's upcoming Innocence: Ghost in the Shell film has been made available on the net by a fan webserver. Click here to view the trailer. It's a 17 meg file so it's going to definately take some time to download for dial-up users. I might make a divx version if there is a demand for such a thing.

In this short clip we see police everywhere and Section 9's Bato fighting something resembling a adult asian female in a Kimono (doesn't look totally human probably an android). No sign of Major Kusanagi in her old or new form... yet...

DBGT on CN this October!
Posted by: Nazmune - Friday, August 8, 2003 @ 12:28 AM ET
In a surprising set of events it seems that DBGT will indeed air on Toonami this October 3rd. It will air on Fridays at 6:30 PM so unlike DBZ it doesn't seem like we'll get to see DBGT 4-5 days a week like we were used to.

DBZ TV Specials and Movies On the Cartoon Network
Posted by: Nazmune - Thursday, August 7, 2003 @ 7:47 PM ET
Cartoon Network will finally show the DBZ TV Specials (History of Trunks and Bardock: The father of Goku) along with two movies during their "In-Flight Movies" timeslot at 6:00 PM on Fridays. Almost everyone here at the DBZN absolutely love the specials and I personally rate them higher then the repetitive DBZ movies. Check out the review of the History of Trunks here.

Here's the timing of the DBZ movies:

September 5: Bardock: The Father of Goku
September 12: The History of Trunks
September 19: Cooler's Revenge
September 26: The Return of Cooler

Animedd.com Staff
Posted by: Nazmune - Tuesday, August 5, 2003 @ 11:25 PM ET
Alright guys I want get the ball rolling on Animedd.com faster then it is happening now so we're moving up the staff recruitment up by two weeks. Most DBZ fans are already fans of many other Anime or are becoming fans after coming here. This forum will be moved to the animedd.com domain within three days and I want to launch the site soon after that

What we really need is some staff members for reviews to start the site off. So if anyone here thinks they have the skills to write decent reviews send me an email at nazmun@dbzn.net.

We also need some people for graphics (more details will be posted in the graphics sections soon). Also I'm open to suggestions for new and original content. Just PM me or email me anything that you might like to do.

Animedd.com Progress Report
Posted by: Nazmune - Tuesday, August 5, 2003 @ 7:34 PM ET
Thought some DBZN fans might want to know about how our new site is going. The news software is 95% complete (need to work out some bugs that might arise and refine the script and layout) and our image gallery is also up.

We'll try to recruit some staff members hopefully in two weeks. A couple of days after that we should be ready to launch the site. Our goal is to make the site bigger, better, and hopefully a lot more fun for Anime otaku's.
