Mini Review, Episode 9 - Princes Snake's Hospitality

The Summary

The Z Warriors minus Goku and Piccolo are gathered at Kami's Lookout/Temple. Here they train for their future battle against the powerful Saiyan's Nappa and Vegeta. Meanwhile it seems that Goku's journey through Snakeway may have ended.

Goku finally makes it to King Kai! But, to his (and your) surprise, King Kai is actually a woman! Goku asks for her training and she begins dancing with him. What kind of insane method is this?

As it turns out, the woman is not King Kai, but Princess Snake. Because Princess Snake and her servants are lonely, they want him to stay, and when he refuses, the try to put him to sleep by putting "sleepy grass" into his food. He finally falls asleep, but wakes up because of a nightmare about the Saiyans.

She realizes that he's too set in his ways to keep, so she tries to eat him, but Gokou escapes...

Goku, now more late then he was before, races to the real King Kai's place.

The Review

The animation was fairly good for this time in the series, and I have to admit Piccolo's training as decent. The plot was okay, but Princess Snake was kind of a corny idea. The music was pretty bad. If you ask me, this episode was just a filler so time could pass as Gohan, Piccolo, and the others trained anticipating the arrival of the Saiyans.
